David Gay

Born in Somerset in 1935 I have been privileged, apart from a two year stint in Germany doing National Service, to have lived in the West Country all my life.

At the tender age of six I was given my first brass instrument and progressed with this all through my Grammar School Education before being introduced to the French Horn on joining the band of the 13th/18th Royal Hussars to complete my National Service,

On returning to civvy street I joined a bank where I enjoyed  a very successful career spanning forty years and after numerous Senior Management positions retired in 1995 and moved to South Devon.

My passion for music continued and I played in several Symphony Orchestras prior to my retirement and on moving to Devon I played in the Plymouth Symphony Orchestra for eight years prior to joining the Torbay Symphony Orchestra where in addition to being a playing member I am currently its Secretary and Treasurer.

I live at Bigbury-on-Sea and am married to Sandy and we have five children. six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
