This course is for more advanced students - 11+ age group / Grade 5 standard
Those students that follow the course through will be able to progress all the way to Grade 8 Theory which is accepted by all the major music colleges as an alternative to Music A Level.
However, this is not a music theory course. The class will cover a wide range of subjects - music history, theory, composition, improvisation, performance styles and familiarity with different genres. The aim is to equip our musicians with all the skills they need (in addition to instrumental skills) to be a rounded musician and to generate an enthusiasm for musical knowledge of all types.
